Your details are sent to a large language model with a carefully engineered prompt. The AI generates a complete, structured trip plan — not a generic travel guide, but a day-by-day schedule tailored specifically to your inputs.
TripGob uses a large language model to power generation. The prompt is dynamically scaled to the length of your trip — shorter trips receive more tokens per day for richer detail. The AI is instructed to include local pricing, insider tips, and practical logistics.
AI output is parsed and validated against a strict schema. If the JSON is slightly malformed (a common LLM quirk), an automatic repair step fixes it. Fields with missing data fall back to safe defaults rather than breaking the page.
Validation uses a Zod schema with .catch() defaults for resilience. The jsonrepair library handles malformed JSON from the model. This means you almost never see a raw error — the itinerary either shows or tells you clearly what went wrong.
Your itinerary is displayed with a full daily schedule, itemized budget in local currency and USD, a three-tier cost comparison, insider travel hacks, weather advice, and visa notes — all in one scrollable view.
Budget tiers are labeled Backpacker, Explorer, and Luxury. Each tier shows the total trip cost so you can instantly compare. The itinerary also includes 8–12 destination-specific travel hacks and a downloadable PDF.
Every itinerary is automatically saved and assigned a unique share link. Sign up for a free account to keep all your itineraries in one place, pick up where you left off, and share your trip plans with travel companions.
Share links are public and don't require the viewer to have an account. If you generated an itinerary anonymously and then created an account, TripGob automatically claims the itinerary and adds it to your profile.
